2024 January and February Update

Dear Friends,

It has been a wonderful past two months. We were able to start services here at Auki Baptist Church. The first Sunday we had 8 visitors and then for the second Sunday we had 14 visitors, not including my family. We started an English class every Tuesday that has 10 students so far. We also have a Theology class that meets on Thursday nights and we have 3 student attending so far. There are many little logistical difficulties in everything here, but God is greater and the Gospel is powerful. We are excited to be able to begin this work and God has given us people to minister to already.

We had a church donate the funds to buy us a table saw, a wood planer and some other wood working equipment. In order to obtain this, we ordered it from the main island and had it shipped to our island. These tools have enabled me to begin making furniture for the church. All the timber here is rough cut in 3 sizes. We are still without a pulpit, and some other items, but hopefully not for long.

My pastor and deacon made their way out to visit and encourage us for about a week. It was a  much appreciated time of fellowship. The hardest part for Melodie and I has certainly been the isolation. It is abundantly clear through many circumstances that God has a work for us to do here on Malaita, yet there are still difficult times of loneliness.

Melodie and I are fairly comfortable with the Solomon Islands Pidgin Language and are starting to work on one of the local languages. Continue to pray that God a bright light for Christ would shine here on Malaita!

Prayer request:

Pray for us to be able to teach the gospel clearly.

Pray for English and Theology class to grow.

Pray for healing, Colton has had a rash cover most of his body since he arrived on Malaita.

Constrained by Love,

The Lee Family
