Dear Friends,
We are nearing the end of deputation and want to express our gratitude for those who have faithfully supported us through this process. We are a little over 90% and have had several meetings in the last two months that will likely result in support putting us nearly at 100%.
The last two months of deputation has taken us to Virginia, New Hampshire, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York. In that time, we have had continued car problems. It has been about the 7th time that I have taken the car in and the problems seems to continue. I recently spoke with a mechanic in PA that is going to replace several parts and we are hopeful that the 8th trip to the mechanic will fix it.
In the beginning of May, I soloed in aviation, and then on June 15th I passed my Private Pilots knowledge test and have since scheduled my oral exam and check ride for July 21st. Once finished with the oral exam and check ride, I will have obtained my Private Pilots License. Please be in prayer for these final tests.
We are currently traveling to Vermont to stay with friends while we anticipate the arrival of baby George. I have been told by a reliable source that this baby is coming very soon. Please pray for a safe and quick delivery as well as a speedy recovery for Melodie. We are excited to be a family of four and Douglas seems excited to have a partner in crime.
We plan to buy tickets for the Solomon Islands as soon as we can get Baby George’s passport. Our departure date will be near the last week of October to the first week of November. Then our intention is to spend a couple months on Guadalcanal to make arrangements for life on Malaita. Please pray for wisdom and God’s provision regarding personal housing and location for the church plant in Auki.
